Hair Salon Robbed

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. -- A hair salon in Clayton County was robbed of $10,000 worth of hair extensions early Thursday, the owner said. The thieves broke into the Beauty Emporium on Riverdale Road around 3 a.m.

A broken door and shattered glass marked where a car rammed into the building. Surveillance video showed at least five masked, hooded thieves running into the store and heading past a cash register toward a back wall lined with human hair extensions.
Within seconds, the thieves jumped over and around a counter to snatch packets of hair. They left a trail of destruction on their way out. The owner said the group left in the same car used to smash into the building.

“They take everything,” a worker told Channel 2’s Ryan Young, pointing to pilfered rows.
The break-in was one of an apparent rash of hair extension heists –some violent – across the country. One hair theft left a beauty shop supplier dead in Michigan, according to reports.
Several other stores in the River Shoals Village Shopping Center have also been broken into recently. Most recently, a metro PCS was hit by armed robbers in the daytime last week.
